What is Poppy Direct Care?

Welcome to Poppy Direct Care, we're glad you're here. We are an innovative primary care practice with a fresh approach to patient care.

Direct Primary Care is our core service. We offer limited additional services by appointment for non-members of the practice, such as hormone consultation and sexual and reproductive health visits.

Most adults today have unique needs that can't be addressed with cookie cutter medicine, and the practice of good medicine is nuanced and complex. ChatGPT can’t replace a physician with 13 years of higher education and 10+ years of physician experience who wants to build personal relationships with her patients.

At Poppy, for a predictable monthly fee, you get direct access to your doctor for your primary and urgent care needs, with same or next day urgent appointments available, and comprehensive follow-up visits lasting 30 - 60 minutes.

There are NO copays for visits. Members have access to deeply discounted prescription drugs and labs (or use your insurance), and our team will help with care coordination and a curated connection to community resources.

Our practice space is an inclusive, safe, nurturing place where you will get non-stigmatized, shame-free care. We keep our practice small and our care intimate, so we remain accessible-- even by text!

Poppy Direct Care is conveniently located uptown, right off the St. Charles streetcar line and within walking distance to Tulane and Loyola University.
